randomness for the week:)

Well tomorrow my hair is going to have a little extra color! I am putting purple and blue in it along with my brown hair. I am a little nervous about it but I am hoping that it is going to be beautiful. My boyfriend’s sister is going to do it and she really is good at doing hair. My whole idea is to look slightly like a peacock… I know that sounds weird but I even bought a cobalt blue bathing suit to match. I am just way to excited for summer. This is kind of my way of gearing up for summer. So far to prepare I have been exercising, tanning, and now I am going to have badass hair. Hopefully!
Yesterday I rode my bike from my dad’s house to my boyfriends. That is about four and a half miles and it only took me a little bit over thirty minutes. I really thought that my legs would be way sorer but they are actually not too bad. My feet however feel like they have had a meat grinder taken to them. My job requires a lot of bending down and it always manages to pull something in the center of my foot. When I walk my foot goes numb and it hurts really bad. I think I will have to switch out my cute flats for heavy tennis shoes.
My sweet boyfriend left me his truck to use thank goodness so I may go visit my grandma for her 82nd birthday. She is surprisingly looking great for her age. She says that some days she actually does feel 80 some but others she feels like she is twenty again. That is pretty encouraging to know that even when you are really old you can still have days where you feel really young. I hope that I am a lively old bat when I get old. I’m probably going to drive way to fast, wear horribly bright colors, have blue hair, and say the most awkward and inappropriate things that I possibly can. If you are that old you have to liven things up!

Oh my what a week!!

Well so far I have figured out how the insurance works. From what I have gathered if you have a loan against the car the insurance pays off the loan and you get a new car or they write you a check. I am really lucky that I had full coverage or it would be tough luck. I am hoping to get another Mazda 6 of the same year and everything. I loved that car. I found one in Arkansas that is identical only it is a beautiful silver color. Hopefully this will be wrapped up in a couple weeks. Today I bought a part to put in my old Grand Marquis so hopefully I will have some transportation to get to work and back until I get my new car. I really do not care for my 1992 boat but I do not mind waiting a while until then.
It is getting easier to sleep now and I think that the shock of all of it is wearing off but I have to say that I didn’t realize how difficult this would be. Luckily my dad has been really supportive and wasn’t awkward when I would burst out crying every three freaking seconds. I am just really thankful that everyone has been so supportive and that my friend and I made it out all right.
I went into work today too and I was lucky I got to train a girl. It is really nice when you train because you have someone to talk to and help you work. The time passes a lot faster that way. I have to work tomorrow and then I am off on Sunday so hopefully I can get caught up on my homework! I am trying to get some done today but it is quite a workload that I need to get caught up on.
Well I just looked out the window and my dad has the Grand Marquis running so all that it needs now is its part put in and I am good to go! Here is to hoping that it runs by Monday so I can drive myself to work!!!
I also watched the news this morning and saw the earthquake that happened in Japan. It was an 8.9! I believe that they said that it was the biggest that has ever happened in Japan. They said that the major damage came from the tsunami afterwards. After watching the video of the water just rushing the cars by like they are tiny toys along with houses and what not I am really glad that I live inland! Well here is to surviving the week and getting a new car! Everyone wear your seatbelts!!!!!

Car crash 2011

Well this week I guess I can blog about my car accident that I had last night with my best friend Ashley. We were going to my dad’s house to let my dog out around ten and while we were on the way there when a group of deer ran out in front of my car. I swerved to miss them and went off into a steep, muddy ditch. The car flipped once and luckily we both had our seatbelts on. Somehow the car flipped it back over and came to a stop before we made it to a creek. I have to say that this is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life. Today I spent my day getting the insurance taken care of and the police report as well. My dad and I also got the car towed today and all I could do was cry. I loved that car as you all know it was my paper one topic and now it is going to be scrap metal. I guess that isn’t what matters though, what matters is that we both made it out with our lives given the circumstances. This is the hardest thing that I have ever had to control my mind on. It is so stressful that before I fall asleep all I can see is us on our roof sliding really fast on our hood shooting glass and mud back in my face. It is so strange it is like I can hear it and feel it still.
Anyway I finally got some sleep and can eat food. Stress like that is just too much for a body to take. When I got out of the car my friend said that I started screaming “my car!” and then passed out in the grass. Wow that might have been a slight over reaction I mean I do have full coverage and I’m fine. It just sucks. I can’t stress enough to people how IMPORTANT seat belts are. This is my second wreck and both times I have had my seatbelt on and it has saved my life for sure. I had glass and mud in my mouth and the glass that flew back scratched and cut my face. If I had not had on my seatbelt I would say that I probably would have been ejected from the vehicle. Thank you God for being with me last night and keeping me safe.

Blog Week 7

This week is breaking me I must say. It seems like everyone that I talk to is having quite a time this week and everyone is ready for better weather. Work has been crazy! I have been working at a motel in town and I really do not think that people realize how hard of work it is to be a maid. I swear some of the things that I see on a regular basis is really making me have a stronger stomach. I feel really bad for the older women that work there that have to carry sheets and towels up the stairs to their carts. If it is this hard on me and I am eighteen I can't imagine how hard it must be on them. You don't usually think about it but stacks of sheets and towels are really heavy after a while. I must just be in a bad mood from work but I don't understand how men cannot hit the toilet bowl, I mean it is a big bowl. I am pretty sure I might do  a better job than them if I tried! It really is disgusting and it sucks to clean up. I asked my dad how this was even possible and he said that some men are just lazy....... Really..... that is just gross. That is what really ticks me off is that it is because they are lazy. The amount of body hair that is left in the showers is also what really makes this job difficult. It isn't that it grosses me out but it is hard to get it off of the tub. It kinda looks like some gorilla men went in there and ripped off their chest hair.
Sorry to all that read this it has just been a hectic week and things like than just tick a person off as their work week progresses. I am glad that we get blogs to blow off some steam after a rough week. I didn't realize until now how difficult it was to hold down a job and go to school at the same time. I guess that is just part of growing up and getting into the "real world." Good luck to all with your school work and your jobs!

News Blog Week 7

Las Vegas is a beautiful place already but I read on Yahoo that it will have something new added to its strip soon. There are plans in the making for a huge Ferris wheel that overlooks the strip and shows off how truly amazing the city is. The giant wheel is to be 500 feet tall, which would make it the third largest in the world and the largest on the Western Hemisphere. A developer won permission to construct the Ferris wheel as the centerpiece of an amusement park and retail center planned for a vacant plot of land on the strip. Five hundred feet is the maximum height that the wheel can be due to restrictions from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration. The site is less than half a mile from the McCarran International Airport, where more than 35 million passengers land every year. The idea for the Ferris wheel is to offer the public “a very unique view of the Las Vegas Strip.” The financial backers of the project have not yet been disclosed but the hopes are to have it built in 18 months to 24 months.
To put its immense height in perspective the tallest Ferris wheel is the 541 foot Singapore flyer, it is followed by the 525 foot Star of Nanchang in China. Then the London Eye, that is by the banks of the Thames River, reaches 443 feet. This would put the London Eye in fourth place.
I could not imagine seeing Las Vegas from a giant Ferris wheel. I have been there on a plane and took off from their airport and that is about as much of Vegas that I have seen. If I was flying in that close to a big obstruction I might be a little worried but I guess the Aviation Administration has that covered.
